The library at NHU is huge, with wooden shelves full of books. There are computers available, and quite an extensive collection of online research materials. There is also a study for those that want to get some homework done between classes.

The green courtyard that the school's buildings surround, a common hangout for students who need a quick nap or a place to eat without walking back to the dorms. There are a few benches and crossing sidewalks leading to the classrooms.

The dorms at NHU are located in two large buildings, just a short walk from the classrooms. Each floor rotates between genders, and there is a curfew at 10:00 for visiting hours between the floors. Generally two students per room.

For students on a meal plan, the cafeteria offers a variety of healthy (and not-so-healthy) food options, including a salad bar and plenty of tables and chairs to sit down and eat.

Includes not only the football field, but also the basketball courts, the baseball diamond, and the soccer field. The football team is one of NHU's strongest sports, and most of the student body shows up with their support at games.

The only mall in Miala, a huge indoor facility with multiple levels. Where to find the most expensive brands, or eat in the food court. Shoppers on a small budget might want to head to Main Street for better deals in the boutique shops.

Any kind of restaurant your character desires to visit, found spread all around the town. Includes the Houxton, a popular diner among NHU students. Remember to tip your waiter!

Whether you're in a hurry or just pure lazy, fast food is always an option. Located a short turn off of Main Street, all sorts of fast food eateries are provided. McDonald's, Chick-fil-A, Taco Bell; the works!

Quite the opposite of the peaceful church building, what happens at the club, stays at the club. Open every night, from nine pm until five that next morning. You must be 21 years or older to gain entrance, though fake IDs are easy to come by.

This could mean the apartments a few blocks from NHU, or the residential neighborhoods where the middle-class families live. Most of the apartments are taken up by the wealthier students, who can afford their own place.

A movie theater, same as everywhere else. Plenty of popcorn for sale (extra butter!), and all the latest movie releases. There is a strict policy against movie-hopping, but you're only in trouble if you're caught.

The most popular coffee shop in Miala, Cafe Nervosa. A relaxing place with comfy chairs, excellent service, and free wi-fi, students can often be found sipping coffee and catching up on homework.

The North Carolinian coast, a tourist attraction and only a two-hour drive from Miala. Large, blue waves and white sand; a good spot for the surfers, or those wanting a nice summer tan.

Closer to town than the beach, the amusement park is located in the next town over, and makes for a great date night. Carnival games and rides, and bands have been known to come by and do signings. Plenty of cotton candy!

The Highland Equestrian center, with boarding stalls, training rings, outdoor and indoor show arenas, and grass fields. A great place to get service hours, or even pick up a job. Some students come by to ride their horses on the weekends.

The Treasure Cove Aquarium, perched on the edge of the state coastline, is your window to the wonders of the ocean. Full of exotic fish and sharks, as well as informative exhibits and a restaurant on the top floor. A two-hour drive from Miala.
